Company printing & RSVP deadlines

If Slaying Soirée prints and sends invitations or game packets, RSVPs must be received at least 14 days (2 weeks) before the event. Party setup applies this RSVP cutoff so there is time to finalize the cast, print, prepare envelopes and mail materials.

Check the event date, guest names, mailing addresses and RSVP details before ordering. Character packets are prepared after RSVPs close and the cast is locked; postal invitations are prepared separately before that cutoff. Keep private character information and later-round envelopes sealed for the correct recipient.

Printing, ink, paper, envelopes and mailing are additional charges shown in your quote. The organizer may instead choose self-printing or the mobile companion. Those options do not require the company-printing cutoff unless company-printed invitations are also selected.

Contact support@odysseusllc.com about late replies, changes after printing, mailing concerns or event-date changes. Review timing with support before placing a company-printing order that cannot meet the cutoff.

Safe play: every murder is fictional

Never add anything—including water—to another player’s food or drink. Do not coat envelopes, props or surfaces with substances, administer anything to another person, or tamper with real equipment. A fictional poison, weapon or sabotage method exists only in the game’s narrative.

The murder action is an exchange of an ordinary paper slip or a digital receipt. Use clean, untreated paper and ordinary safe items identified by the character instructions. Do not use real weapons, sharp props, physical attacks, restraints, surprise touching or dangerous stunts. Homemade props are not required.

The victim can appear dead safely from a seated position; nobody needs to fall. Turn the lights off only when safe and suitable for everyone. Use a spoken scene cue instead if darkness is unsuitable, and never use flashing lights. Keep exits and walking routes clear.

The guests’ call to the police is spoken role-play only: do not place a real emergency call. Players may pause, take a break or step out. Respect boundaries, accessibility needs and anyone’s choice not to eat, drink or join a toast. Keep alcoholic drinks optional and provide non-alcoholic alternatives.

Host responsibilities & game cues

The organizer also plays a character. Review the short host readiness and pacing guide, arrange a suitable venue, collect dietary restrictions and plan breaks. Check food ingredients and arrangements directly with guests; dietary information does not replace those conversations.

Before play, explain the safe-play rules and how to ask for a pause. Follow the host guide for conversations, everyone reading all received slips together, the scene cue, the victim’s return as detective, evidence rounds and voting. Do not open private instructions or later-round evidence ahead of its cue.

Use the site to record RSVP changes if someone cannot attend, including after an earlier “yes.” Follow the updated continuation instructions and replace affected paper materials. Parties over 20 use assigned conversation partners rather than requiring everyone to speak with every guest.

Packages, payments & changes

Choose an available theme, participant allowance and play style. Count the organizer if they play. Theme limits and package prices appear before purchase; larger custom parties can be requested through support@odysseusllc.com.

Review the quoted game price and any printing or mailing charges before payment. A saved unpaid request is not a completed purchase. Party access is activated after verified payment or a fully covered credit/discount order. Changes to catalogue prices apply to new orders; saved orders retain their quoted totals.

Contact support for purchase, billing, printing or account issues and changes to a verified order. Do not assume a late guest or cast change can be included in an already prepared postal packet.

Discount codes & gift credit

Discounts may be fixed dollar amounts or percentages. Eligibility, expiry and usage rules depend on the code: a general discount can be reusable, an organization promotion can be limited to one completed purchase per account, or a single-use coupon can be limited to one completed purchase in total.

Promotional discounts apply only to the mystery price, excluding printing, envelopes, postage and mailing. One promotional code can be applied per order. Limited-use codes are reserved by an unpaid order. Resume that order in My account, or cancel it before payment starts to release the reservation. Started payments require support review before cancellation.

Purchased gift credit is different from a promotional discount. The giver chooses a USD amount without choosing a theme. The recipient claims the code using the email account it was sent to, chooses their party, and pays any difference. Gift credit can cover optional printing and mailing, has no expiry, and retains unused value in the recipient’s account. For a remaining payment under $0.50, checkout preserves extra credit to leave at least $0.50 payable.

Promotions and other gift credit cannot be used to buy gift credit. Keep gift codes private. Resending a gift email sends the same code and does not add value.

Mobile access, photos & communications

Each mobile player needs their own account linked to their invitation, a charged device and internet access. Keep the companion open and refresh after reconnecting. Offline play and closed-app push notifications are not available; follow the organizer’s cues.

Invitation links and character packets contain private game information. Share them only with the intended player. RSVP photos are optional; obtain permission before submitting or sharing another person’s photo, and respect requests not to be photographed.

Weekly puzzles are free and do not require a game purchase. Marketing and puzzle email preferences have separate unsubscribe controls.
